Halal Food in Singapore: Mad About Cheese at Pizza Hut
If you're a big fan of cheese, you'll definitely find Pizza Hut's Cheesy 7 series familiar. It was off the menu for some reason but recently, Pizza Hut Singapore decided to bring it back to our shores by launching new flavours, to make their Cheesy 7 series even more interesting.
As the name suggests, the pizzas in this series are topped with 7 different types of cheese: emmental, cheddar, parmesan, edam, gouda, mozzarella and cream cheese. That’s some of the best-loved cheeses from all over the world and a definite bait for a cheese lover like me, so imagine my excitement when I was told that there was going to be a food tasting!
I know what you must be thinking. “Isn’t that too much cheese in one dish?”
Well, I had that thought before coming to this meal too, to be honest! You know how sometimes when you devour too much mac and cheese at one go, you’ll suddenly feel super bellyful? I was so scared of that happening at the food tasting but to my surprise, it wasn’t like that at all!
The crust wasn’t so thick and puffy like the other regular pizza flavours. It was somewhere in between the thin crust and pan crust.. and I’m guessing that this was done on purpose so that patrons won’t get full too easily!
Here’s the flavour that stole everybody’s attention! Presenting to you the new Cheesy 7 Hot Meaty Medley Trio. As our Instagram followers would know, I cannot handle spicy food (I eat Nasi Lemak without the sambal). I was so scared that this would be too spicy for me, but it smelled soooo good, I couldn't resist. I ended up having two slices! Every bite was packed with just the right amount of everything and the boys wiped the pizza pan clean. It was definitely the crowd pleaser!
The Cheesy 7 Hot Meaty Medley Trio is perfect for someone who loves cheese but finds cheese too boring on its own or love love love dipping your plain cheese pizza into hot sauce. The combination of seven different types of cheese with the crispy crust, chunks of meat and heaps of sauce drizzled all over the top - it really packs a punch, this one.
Our meal also came with the Baked Beef Balls, which are juicy meatballs topped with mozzarella cheese and baked in a special blend of tomato sauce. On top of that, we were also served the Cheesy Fondue sharing platter. There was a pot in the middle filled with melted gouda and the platter came with onion rings, chicken pops, fries and warm bread sticks. Both dishes are definitely perfect for sharing!
There was also another flavour from the Cheesy 7 series in our meal - the Cheesy 7 Hawaiian pizza! This tastes exactly like the original Hawaiian pizza but with a lot more cheese and a little crispier on the crust. The boys preferred the Hot Meaty Medley of course, but I was happily eating more of this, as it’s more within my comfort zone.
After all of that, we washed everything down with these tropical fruit punches. Super refreshing mango with a little hint of mint. I just wish the cup was a little bigger.
