About The Blog

Hey there! We're Nurul & Fazwan, the duo behind EXPLORETOMAKAN, where our passion for food and travel meets storytelling. Our journey began in 2020 as a humble initiative to support small businesses during the pandemic and assist fellow Muslim travelers in crafting unforgettable itineraries once borders reopened.

Since then, EXPLORETOMAKAN has evolved into a vibrant community, earning recognition along the way. We're humbled to have been awarded the 2024 Muslim Travel Blogger of the Year (South East Asia) and the 2023 HalalTrip40 Creator Award.

As a husband and wife duo, we're on a constant journey of learning and growth. Every experience enriches us, and we're dedicated to evolving alongside our audience. We understand that the world is vast and diverse, and our goal is to create content that resonates with people from all walks of life.

    Nurul's wanderlust knows no bounds. Born in Malaysia, raised in Singapore, and educated in Australia, she's a global citizen with a passion for exploration.

    With a background in outdoor adventure and travel tourism, Nurul transitioned to marketing and communications. With nearly a decade of experience in blogging and content marketing, she now specializes in SEO and editorial content for a leading Muslim tech company.

    When she's not working, you'll find her editing for the blog, gazing at the sky, capturing moments with her camera, or indulging in her love for bubble tea and brunches (just keep the durian and spicy food away!).

  • Fazwan Roslan

    CO-FOUNDER, HOST & DESIGNATED ROAD TRIP DRIVER

    Fazwan, a true-blue Singaporean, is renowned for his warm and approachable demeanor. Despite his initial stoic appearance, his knack for sparking conversations makes him the perfect travel companion. While he's the face of our videos, showcasing his love for food (minus non-halal items and vegetables), it’s his time on the floorball court that keeps him grounded during the week.

    Fazwan prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, avoiding roller coasters and heights altogether. Yet, his enthusiasm for epic land and sea adventures, paired with a passion for good food and cars, knows no bounds. If he had his way, he'd explore the world for a living – one delectable dish at a time!
