A Taste of Traditional Kampung Cuisine in the West
Nestled in the western region of Singapore, Fame by Dad's Corner pleasantly surprised us with its unassuming location and bustling atmosphere. Tucked away in ITE College West, this restaurant offers a taste of authentic traditional Malay cuisine, reminiscent of kampung life, and specially for Ramadhan, they are offering a 1-for-1 Buffet Iftar from 15 March to 7 April 2024.
Where are they located?
Fame by Dad’s Corner is located in Blk 2 of ITE College West. As someone who’s from the East, I would not have known about this hidden gem if it wasn’t for social media. Thankfully, it was really easy to get to. If you’re travelling by public transport, the nearest train station is Teck Whye LRT and you can take a short walk directly into the school. If you’re driving, ample parking spaces are available at the basement of the school. Free parking is also available on Sundays!

The moment you step in, it's like entering a cozy home of a relative — at least that’s what it felt like to me! Think simple yet charming decor that sets the scene for good times with friends and family. I was actually taken aback by how crowded it was when we arrived, but after tasting their food, I finally understood why this eatery is so well-loved by the community.
Friendly Service All Around
The service at Fame by Dad's Corner was also friendly and efficient. The staff ensured that our needs were met promptly, providing assistance and answering any inquiries we had about the menu. There was also a table beside us that were celebrating their birthday, so if this is something that you’re looking to do, feel free to enquire with the restaurant directly.

Ramadan Buffet Iftar Menu
With an extensive selection of over 30 dishes, Fame by Dad's Corner caters to a variety of tastes. From classic village staples to grilled specialties, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Their specialty in authentic traditional Malay cuisine shines through in signature dishes such as Lemak Padi Siput Sedut, Ayam Percik, and Rendang Daging.
There’s also the likes of other authentic kampung dishes such as Sotong Masak Hitam, Terung Belado, Pucuk Ubi, Sambal Goreng Jawa, Soup Ayam Madura, Sambal Paru, Asam Pedas, a wide range of ulam and many more. If you’re feeling creative, check out the Noodle & DIY Station where you can whip up your own bowl of Laksa Nyonya or Rojak Buah, subjected to what’s available during your visit.
Desserts and drinks are also available — I highly recommend the Kuih Talam, as well as Air Balang Viral over your regular cordial. The corn drink was not too sweet and the perfect thirst quencher after a full day of fasting.
Overall Experience & Vibe
This is definitely a place that would be great for you to bring your entire family, or even your non-Muslim friends, so they can have taste of authentic Malay cooking. The quality of the food at Fame by Dad's Corner exceeded our expectations. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in delicious and satisfying flavors.
We arrived later than expected so some of the dishes were running out, but we still managed to taste everything as the staff managed to top up some of the stations. The restaurant also provides separate prayer rooms for male and female guests, which makes it really convenient for diners.
Final Verdict: 8/10
As someone who lives in the other end of the country, this restaurant is not a place that we’d stumble upon by chance. But after today, this is definitely a place that we’d be willing to travel to, and possibly revisit with our parents, who would really enjoy the authentic kampung dishes. Although a few of the dishes were running out and a little cold towards the end of the buffet, the value offered in terms of menu variety and taste honestly makes it a worthwhile dining experience.
