A Belated Eid Mubarak to All Muslims
A belated Eid Mubarak everybody! We got a new GoPro Hero 10 Black during the last week of Ramadan and decided to give it a whirl on the first day of Hari Raya this year. It’s truly not an easy feat, running around with the camera in hand while having to serve guests and of course, the editing that comes after.
Anyway, this Hari Raya was filled with a lot of firsts — from both positive and negative ends. While we are overjoyed to be celebrating our first Eid with the car and GoPro, we can’t hide how much it hurts to be celebrating our first Eid without both our grandparents around. Every year, extended family members would always come together at our grandparents' house and spend the whole day there. It's obvious that they are dearly missed, but somehow, everyone managed to hide their feelings pretty well — us included.
Al-Fatihah to our late grandparents, we love you both so much.
Despite the occasional reminiscing, we had loads of fun celebrating Hari Raya with the family and it felt surreal, being able to open our gates to relatives without a restrictive number of guests per day. If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s to never take things for granted. We will always cherish family time and being surrounded by my loved ones. Life is already short as it is.
This post is coming out a month after Raya but to all our Muslim readers, we hope you’ve had an amazing celebration this year. Maaf zahir batin and our sincere apologies if we have ever offended you in any way. As always, thank you for being here and don’t forget to subscribe because in the next vlog — we are gonna celebrate Hari Raya in Malaysia! See you in the next one, Insha’Allah!
